A new month means a new excuse to change up your classroom bulletin boards! As with every month in the holiday season, there are seemingly endless possibilities when it comes to how to decorate your boards with some fall fun. Here are just six great ideas!

Thankful Hands Bulletin Board

Cut a large turkey out of construction paper and have each student leave his or her painted handprint on the tail feathers. You can even have each student write his or her name on the handprint so that everyone knows whose is whose.

Birds of a Feather Bulletin Board

Take things a step further by having students design their very own turkey feather. When everyone has put their own unique spin on the feather, add them all to the body of the turkey and display proudly on a bulletin board or classroom door.

We are Thankful Bulletin Board

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, so have each student make his or her own paper plate turkey and write something they’re thankful for on each feather. Then display all the turkeys together so that students can share what they’re thankful for with the whole class.

Bushels of Thanks Bulletin Board

Similar to the We are Thankful bulletin board, this cute spin on the idea uses falling leaves instead of turkey feathers.

Veterans Day Bulletin Board

Although Thanksgiving is usually at the front of everyone’s mind in November, don’t forget about the other important November holiday—Veterans Day. You can combine these two November holidays by having students cut out red, white and blue construction paper hands to use as turkey feathers.

Ways to Give Bulletin Board

Teach students that it is better to give than to receive by asking everyone to write down one good way to give back on an apple and adding it to a Giving Tree inspired bulletin board. Although it’s good to be thankful, it’s even better to give to others, and there’s no better time to show it than the holiday season.
